OpenTV SDK Development Suite C2.2

The OpenTV SDK Team is very excited to announce the free release of its OpenTV SDK Development Suite C2.2 and its Beta Tester Program.

SDK Development Suite C2.2 is the software kit that enables to write, compile, build, test and debug interactive applications using OpenTV Core2.2TM.

  • It is a complete all-in-one solution for development environment: code, compile, build, send flow, test interactive app, debug, step by step on developer’s desktop.
OpenTV SDK Development Suite C2.2 IDE Component
  • IDE is based on open source platforms, Eclipse and CDT. It can start a local or remote VSTB with necessary control parameters and send streams to it automatically.
  • The OpenTV Virtual Set-Top Box (VSTB) simulates the OpenTV set-top box runtime environment without the need for any set-top box hardware.
  • All the tools are entirely configurable to match each developer’s environment.
  • The OpenTV SDK Development Suite C2.2 uses exactly the same Core2 code that is used in physical set-top boxes giving the user a true representation of how their application will run in the field.

OpenTV Beta Testers Program

Thank you for the many of you who submitted their application.  After a careful review, we retained very specific companies that we thought would best fit our Beta Testers Program needs. However, we will enroll more people after this very first round of Beta Testers. Stay tuned!

The OpenTV SDK Beta Testers Program is a program designed to meet the needs of our development teams and beta test partners. Enrollment application forms are still available! Register now to apply for enrollment! Applicants will be notified if they are selected to enter the Beta Testers Program.

The beta test process helps OpenTV determine the quality of its new OpenTV SDK Development Suite C2.2 before it is released to the general public, allowing beta testers find and report any issues while using OpenTV the SDK Development Suite C2.2.
